Award of Contract - Middlefield Road and Woodside Road Intersection <br />Improvements Project and Approval of Easement <br /> <br /> Staff contact: Peter Delgado, Associate Engineer 780-7373 pdelgado@redwoodcity.org <br /> <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By Motion: <br />1. Approve the contract documents and award the standard form <br />construction contract (Section 00520) for the Middlefield Road and <br />Woodside Road Intersection Improvements Project to Granite Rock <br />Company of San Jose, California, for their responsive low bid of <br />$1,562,685, and authorize the City Manager to increase the contract <br />amount, if necessary, up to 10% above the contract unit price, and <br />find that the project is exempt from the requ irements of the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under CEQA Guidelines Sect ion <br />15301 (Existing Facilities); <br />2. Approve an associated Easement for sidewalk and other purposes, <br />and authorize the City Manager to accept the Easement granted by <br />Mortgage Investors IV LLC at 2001 Middlefield Road, and execute the <br />Certificate of Acceptance <br /> <br /> C. Award of Contract - Sanitary Sewer Pump Station Improvements <br />Project - P.S. No. 13 and P.S. No. 16 <br /> <br /> Staff contact: Jeffrey Chou, Assistant Engineer II 780-7362 jchou@redwoodcity.org <br /> <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract <br />documents and award the standard form construction contract 00520 for the <br />Sanitary Sewer Pump Station Improvements Project - P.S. No. 13 and P.S. <br />No. 16 to the lowest responsible bidder, Casey Construction Inc. of Emerald <br />Hills, California for their low bid of $1,404,140; and, authorize the City <br />Manager to increase the contract amount, if nece ssary, up to 10% of the <br />original contract amount, not to exceed $1,544,544; and find that the project <br />is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act <br />(CEQA) under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) <br /> <br /> D.
