As shown in the attached exhibits, the proposed General Fund net increase to
expenditures and transfers out is primarily due to a $400,000 expense related to razing
and removing a public nuisance located at 112-120 Vera Avenue, as supported by City
Council Resolution 15574, approved on April 3, 2017.

Other significant year-end budget revisions include:

· $148,951 appropriation for Marshall Street intersection improvements to be
funded as part of the development at 601 Marshall Street.

· $110,000 for three appropriations for repair and maintenance costs associated
with storm water and sewer pumps, and for the purchase of trash capture
devices needed to meet storm water requirements.

· $80,000 appropriation for costs associated with the lease of parking spaces at
the San Mateo County Transit District Sequoia CalTrain lot.

ALTERNATIVES
Council could elect not to approve any or all of these recommended adjustments. The
impacts would vary depending upon the circumstances surrounding each specific item.
FISCAL IMPACT
The net change in fund balance for each fund is shown in the Analysis Section of this
report. Sufficient resources are available within the unassigned fund balance in the
respective funds, or will be made available through grants or increased revenues that
will be received this fiscal year.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.

KIMBRA MCCARTHY
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

6.3.C. - Page 2
