EXH I ° \
Redwood
CityCalifornia
Founded 2867
`wsl
\ 4 ./
Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department
1400 Roosevelt Ave. Redwood City, CA 94061
(650) 780-7250
Event Plan
2017 4th of July Fireworks
Port of Redwood City
The City of Redwood City is requesting temporary use of the Port of Redwood City
facilities to host the 2017 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular. The City is continuing to
take the lead this year with obtaining major corporate sponsors to pay for a 20 minute
high aerial show; will provide onsite entertainment for spectators prior to the show;
provide public notification; and manage security, police services, and any necessary
permitting.
Fireworks Display Details:
The display will be conducted by a licensed fireworks vendor and will be launched from
the concrete Wharf#4. This is the same location that the City's Fire Marshal, Parks/Rec.
Director, Port Staff, Port Commission and the pyro-technician has agreed upon in the
past. The Fire Marshal concurs that the location is safe and has received the necessary
permits and paperwork from the pyro-technician.
Pyrospectaculars, Inc. (the licensed fireworks company) has received approval from the
US Coast Guard and the "Marine Events Permit" is attached for reference. With the
approval from the US Coast Guard to launch the fireworks from Wharf #4, we do not
have to coordinate the use of a barge and the costs, insurance and logistics requirements
that go with that.
The show will last for approximately 20 minutes and will begin at 9:30 pm.
The fireworks vendor has obtain all necessary permits in accordance with State law.
Copies of these permits have been provided to the City's Fire Marshal.
