<br /> DES:dft -'09/94 (031/36) <br /> which all efforts shall be taken to stamp out the trafficking in, <br /> and use of, illegal drugs through the imposition of enhanced <br /> penalties provided by law and other means. <br /> 2. The Director of Parks and Recreation in cooperation <br /> with the Police Department is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> erect distinctive signs designating the aforesaid areas as Drug <br /> Free Zones, to provide and disseminate such educational materials <br /> as he deems appropriate pertaining to the meaning of such zones <br /> and the deleterious effect of illegal drugs, and otherwise to <br /> implement the policy established hereby, subject to the <br /> availability of funds. <br /> 3. By adoption hereof, this Council hereby encourages all <br /> members of our community to support by all reasonable means this <br /> City's efforts to stamp out the use of illegal drugs and, toward <br /> that end, to support and assist the Police Department and others <br /> having authority to enforce the laws against illegal drugs and, <br /> in particular, through education and by setting personal <br /> standards of conduct, to protect the children of our community <br /> from being lured into the drug sub-culture. <br /> * * * <br /> 2 <br /> ,-_.. .... -...---..-..----.-...,.--...--.-..--....... .....--.-.. --. <br />
