<br /> PARKS,RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES SUPERVISOR <br /> (PARKS) <br /> ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br /> Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> 1. Direct and supervise the maintenance and preparation of athletic <br /> fields and the grading. filling and shaping of baseball diamonds; <br /> direct work related to the installation of bases, infields, and <br /> field marking according to the scale required by the type of play. <br /> 2. Supervise the installation and maintenance of automatic and manual <br /> irrigation systems. <br /> 3. Direct, supervise and participate in the training and application <br /> of chemicals for weed, pest and disease control. <br /> ADDITIONAL JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATNONS <br /> Knowledge of: <br /> Principles and practices of park administration. <br /> Abi 1 ity to: <br /> Estimate time, materials, and equipment needs to perform park <br /> maintenance work. <br /> EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: <br /> Any combination of experience and training that would provide the <br /> required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to <br /> obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> Four years of increasingly responsible experience in parks and <br /> recreational facilities maintenance as well as custodial and <br /> building maintenance, with two years of supervisory experience. <br /> Training: <br /> Equivalent to the completion of two years of college with <br /> specialized courses in horticulture, building and custodial <br /> maintenance or related field.
