Carried by unanimous voice vote and public hearing closed at 9:07 p.m. Council discussion involved the substandard lot size and lot frontage, slope density, drainage, flag lots in R -1 neighborhoods, and other requirements of the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance and Subdivision Map Act. M /S: Claire /LaBerge to deny the appeal of the Redwood City Planning Commission decision denying the exception to the Subdivision Ordinance which would create a substandard sized lot, 631 Canyon Road, James McFaden, appellant. Carried by unanimous roll call vote. City Attorney Shcricker to prepare findings. MINUTE ORDER NO. 89 -57 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- ORAL COMMUNICATIONS a. Louise Short, 220 Center Street, Redwood City asked Council for help in recovering funds she believes are owed to her from her claim against the City which was denied by Council. Mayor Greenalch offered to assist Mrs. Short from discretionary funds available to the Council and again explained the City has no responsibility or liability in this case. Mayor Greenalch to phone Mrs. Short tomorrow and discuss the matter further. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST a. Councilman Claire reported the Personnel Committee is continuing to meet with the Benefits Committee and have scheduled their next meetings for 12:15 p.m. Friday and 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 8th. b. Councilman Bury reported on the successful YMCA fundraiser and the Human Investment Project Open House he and other Councilmembers attended last week. Councilman Bury suggested that the Shared Home on Pine and Middlefield be nominated for a Mayors Beautification Award. C. Vice Mayor LaBerge invited Council to attend the Council of Mayors dinner on May 19th in San Bruno where she will be giving a presentation about the conflict resolution program which began in Redwood City and which she hopes will be adopted throughout the County.
