CITY MANAGER REPORTS <br />3. Consideration of request from Woodside Terrace <br />A.M. Kiwanis Club to hold a July Fourth Carnival - <br />continued from April 24, 1989. <br />Report: City Manager 4/27/89 <br />Assistant City Manager Bob Jean described the alternatives staff proposed to <br />Philip Wang of the Kiwa nis and John Hensill of the Farmers Market. <br />Walter S. Butler (no relation to Butler Amusement Company) and Philip Wang <br />described why the alternatives presented were unacceptable to Butler <br />Amusement Company and steps they would take to provide safety barriers to <br />block off Middlefield Road and railroad tracks and emphasized the public <br />service they provide to the people of Redwood City. <br />John Hensill, of the Farmers Market explained the inconvenience of having to <br />share their parking lot with Carnival rides and booths or to alert growers <br />and customers to a new location for one day once a year. <br />Title read.
