JORDAN <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER MATT LEIPZIG <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> Study Session with Planning Commission <br /> 7:30 p.m. <br /> February 16, 1999 <br /> <br /> Planning Commissioners Present: Chai,iian Verdone, Vice-Chair Garcia, Giannini, Moore, <br /> Sanfilipo, Bursak <br /> <br /> City Council Mernbers Present: Mayor Howard, Vice Mayor Ruskin, Harmett, Leipzig, <br /> Jordan <br /> <br /> The study session commenced at 7:30 p.m. with Senior Planner Passanisi presenting the staff <br /> report and overview of the Redwood Shores Subcommittee recommendations. <br /> <br /> · Overview of Lot 6 (KGEI and SBSA lands) and Area H <br /> · Subcommittee Recommendations include two new Zoning Districts: <br />-- RSB (Redwood Shores Bayfront) District- more restrictive than the existing TP zone. RSB- <br /> R (Redwood Shores Bayfront- Residential) District- adds residential and neighborhood <br /> commercial uses. All uses except for Wetlands require a Use Permit. <br /> · The options include: <br /> 1. Adopt the Subcommittee recommendation to rezone the two areas with the City paying <br /> for the CEQA costs. <br /> 2. Retain the existing "TP" Zoning. <br /> 3. Adopt a revised "RSB" Zoning District. Will not include plant nurse~. It is more <br /> restrictive; therefore CEQA review will not occur until developer submits a project. <br /> <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br /> · Adopt the revised "RSB" District (Option #3)- for the Radio Station / SBSA site. <br /> · Wait until a project triggers a rezone and CEQA review for Area H. <br /> <br /> QUESTIONS FROM CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> Staff answered questions regarding both the Subcommittee and staff recommendations. <br /> <br /> The revised "RSB" District would be more restrictive than the current "TP" zone.
