The motion passed by unanimous voice <br /> vote. <br /> <br /> Public Hearing Closed - 8:08 p.m. <br /> <br /> M/S Leipzig/Claire to adopt Resolution No. 13562 Vacating Portions Of Manzanita And <br /> Heller Streets In The City Of Redwood City, Pursuant To Part 3 Of Division 9 Of The <br /> California Streets And Highways Code; And Reserving A Public Service Easement <br /> Therefrom Subject To Satisfaction Of Conditions Stated Therein. The motion passed by <br /> unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br /> D. Consideration of Solid Waste Collections Rate Increase <br /> i. Resolution Establishing Rates of Charges for Sanitary Inspections, Collections, <br /> Recycling and Removal of Refuse in the City of Redwood City (304) <br /> <br /> Finance Director Ponty reported on past rate increases, the review process by consultants <br /> of South Bayside Transfer Station Authority, revenue shortfalls, and adjustment <br /> determinations. <br /> <br /> Bob Hilton, President of Hilton, Farnkopf and Hobson Consultants for South Bayside <br /> Transfer Station Authority, reported on their rate review and compliance analysis <br /> procedures and process used to determine the new rate proposed. <br /> <br /> Public Hearing Opened - 8:19 p.m. <br /> <br /> Marilee Robinson, 1258 Ruby Street, stated she supports this increase of 16.5% because of <br /> the of low cost 20 gallon rate which will promote more recycling and reward citizens <br /> financially who are willing to decrease their waste stream. She noted it is appropriate for <br /> those who want to be wasteful to pay more and encouraged Redwood City to take a <br /> stronger stance to reduce waste stream and increase recycling. <br /> <br /> No others came forward. <br /> <br /> M/S Clalre/Hartnett to close the public heating.
