Legislative Committee Report NO. 89 -4 re noise <br />regulations <br />Report: Legislative Committee Report No. 89 -4 (301 -06) <br />Vice Mayor Georgi LaBerge presented Legislative Committee report. <br />Discussion ensued regarding weekend noise levels, construction times, need <br />for expressing noise in decibels, ability of police department to enforce <br />noise restrictions, and community and business input into noise ordinance <br />provisions. <br />M /S: LaBerge /Bury to set construction hours beginning at 7 :00 a.m. rather <br />than 6 :00 a.m. as in proposed ordinance. <br />Motion failed on following vote: <br />AYES: Vice Mayor LaBerge and Mayor Greenalch <br />NOES: Councilmembers Buchan, Bury, Claire, Murray and Stangel <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be the consensus of the Council <br />to direct staff to prepare separate ordinance or amendment to ordinance <br />regulating construction noise and bring back to Council for consideration. <br />MEMO 7/11/89 <br />M /S: Murray /Buchan to approve introduction of noise ordinance deleting the <br />entire Division III (construction noise restrictions). <br />ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 24 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING <br />TO THE REGULATION OF NOISE <br />Approved unanimously for first reading by roll call. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />STAFF REPORTS <br />5.
