That the R.C.A.C. exercise its best efforts to provide a minimum of 30 individual <br /> visual an piec~s to be provided by artist members of R.C.AC. in such displays <br /> as the artist determines is suitable for display of his or her work. <br /> a) That reyi~w and approval of individual artWork pieces submitted to the City <br /> shall be subject to a recommendation by the Redwood City Culmral Commission. <br /> b) That the artwork submitted to the Cirv shall be' the work of artist members of the <br /> . , <br /> ReAC. <br /> c) That the approved pieces of art~lOrk be part of a rotaúng exhibit, and that the <br /> individual pieces will change on a periodic baSis. New items would be approved <br /> as under (a) above, but new i~ms could be substituted for current items <br /> temporarily until the Cultural Commi ,-sion considered a.pproval of the new piece. <br /> d) That the City be responsible for the selection of the display location and number <br /> (up to 30 pieces) of artwork to be used in its facilities. <br /> e) That the City not be liable for any damage to the anwork on display/storage <br /> which has been loaned to the City unless the damage is caused by wrongful <br /> negligence by the City (reasonable estimate of the value of each art'Work piece <br /> shall be submitted to the City by an independent certified evaluation). <br /> 2. That the R.C.A.c. establish regular community-oriented programs which promote <br /> the field and practice of visual arts in Redwood City, includirrg the following: <br /> a) That activities must include regular on-sire meetings and/or workshop classes <br /> for local young people, including but not limited to high school students. <br /> Additional involvement vlith other grade leveLc;is also recommended in order <br /> to further develop the RC.A.C's role in the community, and build a strong <br /> relationship with the school district <br /> b) Th~ subject program will indude a monthly on-site tour of the facility where the <br /> R.C.A.C.' s role is explained, and "work in progress" can b~ observed by the <br /> vìsitors. <br /> c) That tht R.C.AC. seek collabof2.tive work with orner community based groups, <br /> including, but not limited to, non-profir org:mi7:Hions involving the mentally <br /> disabled. <br /> d) The R.C.AC. panicipate in downtown cven~ and festivals. <br /> e) Tnat L'rJ.e R.c.A.c. sponsor a y~arly Art Fair or major exhibit. This event must <br /> be structured to enhanÅ“ the RC.A.C.'s panicipatOry role in the community, <br /> as well as expand its fund-raising capabilities. Additional fund-raising efforts, <br /> includi11g grant writing, is also recommended as a vital part of the R.C.AC: s <br /> regular functions. <br /> _. ·1 <br />
