ORIGINAL <br />-(:MnV <br />GRANT AGREEMENT <br />REDWOOD CITY POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE <br />THIS GRANT AGREEMENT is made and entered into this N day of <br />201FI by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and <br />nic I corporation of the State of California ("Grantor"), and the REDWOOD CITY <br />POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE, a non-profit organization ("Grantee") (collectively, the <br />"Parties"), with reference to the following facts: <br />RECITALS <br />A. Grantor is the Redwood City Police Department. <br />B. Grantee is a non-profit entity established to achieve the goal of providing <br />sports and after school programs to at -risk and potentially at -risk youth in the City of <br />Redwood City. Grantee provides services and programming that complements and <br />enhances services provided by the City. <br />C. Grantor desires to provide youth sports and after school programs to at -risk <br />and potentially at -risk youth in an underserved area of the community, but due to budget <br />constraints, it is not able to provide comparable services and programming. <br />D. Grantee is prepared to provide youth sports and after school programs to <br />serve at -risk and potentially at -risk youth. Grantee is uniquely situated to provide this type <br />of programming because of its location, personnel, and procedures and the history of its <br />relationship and engagement with the Redwood City Police Department, the Redwood <br />City Parks and Recreation Department and the community. <br />E. Grantee has submitted a proposal to the Grantor for fundraising, business <br />development, partnership building and infrastructure development to deliver sports and <br />after school programs to youth. Upon the terms and conditions described herein, Grantor <br />is willing to provide $160,000.00 to fund Grantee's provision of the services more <br />particularly described in Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />this reference. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, Grantor and Grantee hereby agree as follows: <br />1. Grant and Use of Funds. Grantor agrees to provide a grant to Grantee of <br />not more than $80,000.00 for fiscal year 2016-2017. If additional grant funds in the <br />amount of up to $80,000.00 are approved by the City Council in the Fiscal Year 2017- <br />2018 Redwood City budget adoption, total funding for the two-year period will be for a <br />not -to -exceed amount of $160,000.00. Funds drawn from Fund 150-62115 Police <br />Activities League Support shall be disbursed to Grantee once annually within a <br />reasonable time upon Grantee's submittal of invoice to Grantor.
