6A.A. - Page 1
REPORT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager
July 24, 2017
SUBJECT
Second Reading of Ordinance Amendments for Public Works Services Fees
RECOMMENDATION
Waive second reading and adopt an Ordinance amending Sections 38.10, 38.10.1, and
38.5(h) of the City Code relating to certain Public Works Services fees
BACKGROUND
As a part of the Fee Schedule adoption on June 26, 2017, the City Council introduced
amendments to an Ordinance for certain Public Works Services fees. This is the second
reading of that ordinance, as required by law.
ANALYSIS
Amendments contained in the Final Ordinance (Attachment 1) are necessary to make
certain Ordinances and the Municipal Code consistent with the adopted Fee Schedule,
and to facilitate future updates to fee amounts. If adopted, this ordinance will be
effective on September 22, 2017, which is 60 days from the date of this action.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council may choose to not adopt the ordinance or reintroduce the ordinance
with changes.
FISCAL IMPACT
Public Works Services fees are expected to increase by approximately $2,500.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, Section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or a reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
JUN NGUYEN
REVENUE SERVICES MANAGER
