A. Fourth amendment to the uniform franchise agreement with Browning Ferris <br /> Industries (BFI) for solid waste collection services. <br /> <br /> Finance Director Ponty gave background and recommended adoption of the amendment to <br /> provide staff and the SBTSA negotiatiors with sufficient time to conclude their <br /> negotiations and provide the~ recommended proposal to the City Council. The amendment <br /> does not extend the agreement with BFI, but only extends the deadline by which BFI must <br /> be notified if the Council elects to terminate their agreement with BFI to February 1, 2000. <br /> <br /> City Attorney Schrickcr read the title of the ordinance. <br /> <br /> M/S Leipzig/Ira to introduce an ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING <br /> EXECUTION OF FOURTH AMENDMENT TO FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH <br /> BROWNING-FERRIS INDUSTRIES OF CALIFORNIA, INC., FOR SOLID WASTE <br /> COLLECTION SERVICES (301) <br /> <br /> The motion passed by unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br /> B.
