<br /> ORIGINAL <br /> 08/18/97 <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND <br /> SEQUOIA UNION mGH SCHOOL DISTRICT <br /> (Redwood City 2000 Coordinating Committee) <br /> TIllS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this_ day of <br /> 1991 by and between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision of the State <br /> of California, ("County"); the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of the <br /> State of California, ("City"); REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, <br /> an elementary school district, ("Elementary School District"); and SEQUOIA UNION <br /> IllGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, a high school district, ("High School District"); all of which <br /> entities are referred to collectively as "the Parties". <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Parties enter into an agreement to <br /> establish a Redwood City 2000 Coordinating Committee to provide oversight to multiple <br /> collaborative programs designed to improve the health and quality of life in Redwood City <br /> and to provide a forum for collaborative needs assessment and community planning based <br /> on the National Civic League Healthy Communities Model: <br /> NOW THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTAL COVENANTS <br /> AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. PURPOSE. The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole purpose of <br /> providing assistance to and allowing the establishment of a Redwood City 2000 <br /> Coordinating Committee (the "Coordinating Committee"). The Coordinating Committee <br /> exists for three major purposes: <br /> A. To provide a forum wherein representatives of public entities can work together <br /> and with members of the private sector, business and the community at large to <br /> improve the quality of life in Redwood City. <br /> .- ,._-~ ....-....... <br />
