Before this Agreement betv·,.een the City and the Supplier is entered into, the Supplier shall submit written evidence that it has obtained for the period of the contract for workers' compensaticn and ir:surance ccverage for all persor.s whom he employs or may employ in carrying out the work under this Agreement. This insurance shall be in accor¿ance with the most currer:~t ar.d applicable state \.¡orkers I compensa tic!'. insurance laws. In accordance with the provisions of Section 1861 of the California Labor Code, Supplier, in signing this Agreement, certifies to the City as to the following statement: I am aware of the provisicns of Section 3700 of the .--- _Labor Code \.¡hich require every employer to be insured against liability for \.¡orkers' compensation or to undertake se2.::-insurance in accordance ,,,-ith the provisions before commencing the performance 01: the work of this Agreement. In accordance with the provi::;ions of Secticn 172ï of the Labor Ccde, the City, before making payment to Supplier of money due under this Agreement, shall withhold and retain therefrom all amOtLr:t::; ,·:hich have been forfeited pursuant to any stipulation in this Agreement, in terms c:: Chapter I , part ï , Division 2 of the California Labor Code (commencing with §1720) .
