CONSENSUS: Council requested itemized and detailed list of Port area lease /rents <br />and agreements, and origin of revenues, maritime and non - maritime. <br />MEMO 2/11/89 <br />Chairman Castle thanked the Council for this meeting and all the meetings with <br />the Mayor and Vice Mayor, promised to keep the Council informed of Port <br />activities, and presented the check for $100,000 to Mayor Greenalch. <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following people addressed the Councilmembers and Port Commissioners: <br />Thetis Pappas congratulated Port on its success and described the Port <br />as a priceless gift. <br />Bob Cunningham expressed concern that the official audit report was not <br />widely disseminated nor discussed at a public meeting. <br />Gus Pappas commented on the intrinsic value of the Port. <br />Bob Hoffman congratulated the Port on its turnaround and described the value <br />of the Port to recreational boaters and asked for maintenance and dredging <br />of the yacht harbor. <br />Nita Spangler requested detailed report of income from restaurants and other <br />companies in the Port area, echoed the comments of Bob Hoffman that recreation <br />boating is big business in California, and advocated more attention by the Port <br />Commission to the overall economic benefits of facilities for recreation <br />boating at the Port. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />M /S: Stangel /Buchan to adjourn the Joint Meeting. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote and Meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m. <br />c <br />Arl n C. or enson <br />City Clerk <br />Joint Council /Port Commission Mtg.Minutes <br />12/5/89 MINUTE BOOK NO. 49 <br />page 3 page No. 170 <br />
