City Manager Smith advised of a future rate increase due to an increase in <br />landfill rates at Ox Mountain for postclosure maintenance; described the <br />partnership between BFI and member cities with respect to recycling; and <br />advised there is legislation pending in the state legislature that will <br />address solid waste management including recycling. <br />Mayor Greenalch requested a change in the wording of the ordinance clarifying <br />the increased recycling rate to be 3.850. <br />Leno Valbusa, 225 Shoreway, San Carlos, BFI District Manager, advised BFI is <br />not anticipating a rate increase due to the increased tonnage fee, but will <br />look at the figures later in 1990. <br />a.
