Page 3 <br /> <br />• Until recently two Senior Affairs Commissioners have served on the board of the Friends of the <br />Veterans Memorial Senior Center, since that is no longer the case, Bruce will serve as liaison <br />between the two groups, reporting to each at their meetings. <br />• September 16th the Friends of the VMSC are having a luau fundraiser with Hawaiian food, drinks, <br />music and more. $11,000 was raised at their Speakeasy event. They’re hoping the luau will be <br />just as successful. <br />• The UC Master Gardeners are offering free gardening tips and advice to the public from their <br />office in the VMSC lobby, every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />• Soon the Master Food Preservers will host classes at the VMSC on Wednesday nights and <br />Sunday afternoons. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at 2:00 p.m. The next meeting will <br />be on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center in Redwood City, <br />California. <br />
