Council questions included status of City interest in the property and why permits were issued <br /> and rescinded, why not pursuing a private developer handling the process. City Manager <br /> Everett explained the City's interest in the property. <br /> <br /> M/S Ruskin/Hartnett to extend the meeting to 12:00 a.m. The motion passed by a unanimous <br /> voice vote. <br /> <br /> Pete Petrouski, representing Mr. Szmay, gave his understanding and plan of the process. <br /> Council comments included questioning where the applicant would be in 45 days with the <br /> process and other questions to staffregarding obligations should the developer/owner fail to <br /> fulfill requirements. <br /> <br /> M/S Ira/Jordan to extend the meeting to 12:15 a.m. The motion passed by a unanimous voice <br /> vote. <br /> <br /> Council consensus, with Mayor Howard and Council Member Claire dissenting, directed staff <br /> to do the following regarding 303 and 309 Heller/418 Cassia: <br /> 1) Continue with the relocation process <br /> 2) Defer demolition of the buildings <br /> 3) Allow the Petrouski/Szmay applicants 30 days from last night - (until Oct 13, 1999 at <br /> 5:00 p.m.) to submit the plans and specifications as determined necessary and reasonable <br /> by the Building Official for rehabilitation of the buildings. <br /> 4) Applicant to submit a $18,000 non-refundable cash deposit to pay the City for <br />-- (relocation) expenses with the issuance of the building permit <br /> 5) Within 2 weeks of issuance of the building permits, applicants must start work <br /> 6) The Building Official may determine what is a reasonable time to complete the work <br /> 7) Request the applicant board up the houses as soon as the units are vacated. <br /> 8) The City will withdraw its offer to Cai Savings on the first mortgage. <br /> 9) The applicant agreed to obtain a letter from the owner allowing the applicant to represent <br /> him and submit plans on his behalf. <br /> MEMO 9/21/99 <br /> <br /> 8.
