<br /> EXHIBIT A <br /> PROJECT SERVICES <br /> Pursuant to the Agreement for Services between First 5 San Mateo County and Redwood City 2020 through its Fiscal <br /> Agent, The City of Redwood City entered into on July 1, 2004, Contractor shall provide the following services as <br /> described more fully in Attachment A, attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, over the term of this <br /> contract from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2007. <br /> Exhibit A and its attachments reflect the scope of work for the first year of the contract July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005. It <br /> is understood and agreed that Contractor will submit an updated scope of work for the succeeding year by June 15, <br /> 2005, and receive approval from the Executive Director of the Commission or his/her designee, after consultation with <br /> the Chair of the Commission, prior to commencing the second year provided, however, that there shall be no change <br /> in the maximum amount payable under this Agreement. It is anticipated that the scope of work will be amended, with <br /> written approval of the Executive Director, upon review of the prior year's progress reports. <br /> Under this grant, Contractor will provide support to ensure preschool quality at Redwood City School District (RCSD) <br /> preschools and offer family support services designed to support the early school success of neighborhood children: <br /> 1. Support and offer quality preschool programs. <br /> a. Implement and maintain NAEYC accreditation of RCSD Child Development Center (CDC) sites. <br /> b. Maintain and implement professional development plan for preschool teachers. <br /> c. Put in place activities to strengthen links between CDC sites and district kindergarten programs. <br /> d, Six Parent Advisory Boards will meet quarterly to facilitate activities, coordinate volunteer <br /> opportunities, and provide guidance to program development and fundraising. <br /> 2. Increase access to family support and mental health services in the RCSD preschool programs at Fair Oaks,'" <br /> Hoover, and Roosevelt Schools. <br /> a. Provide home visiting/school readiness services to a case load of 20 families with children 0-5 living in <br /> the Fair Oaks School area. <br /> b. Provide case managed mental health services to 20 families whose children attend the RCSD <br /> preschool programs at Hoover, Roosevelt, and Fair Oaks Schools. <br /> c. Provide play therapy individually or in groups to 10-20 preschool children attending Hoover, Roosevelt <br /> and Fair Oaks CDC programs. <br /> d. Provide a total of 3-5 hours per week of in-classroom mental health consultation support to teachers at <br /> Roosevelt and 3 hours per week each at Hoover and Fair Oaks preschool programs. <br /> e. All Mental Health staff will meet quarterly with CDC and Family Center Administration to ensure <br /> programmatic integration and success. <br /> 3. Implement opportunities to support improved collaboration among Redwood City 2020's early care and <br /> education partners. <br /> a. Expand opportunities for early childhood representatives to participate in Redwood City 2020's <br /> collaborative structure. <br /> b. Strengthen collaboration around reporting and evaluation. <br /> c. Initiate a planning process in conjunction with First 5 San Mateo County's Preschool for All and School <br /> Readiness Initiatives for the purpose of creating a shared vision and plan of action to better address <br /> Redwood City 2020's early care and education goal. <br /> d. Redwood City Family Center site coordinators and home visitors will connect with RCSD CDC <br /> preschools on their sites and will check in with them regularly to inform them about the services that <br /> are available through the centers, how they can access these services, answer questions and build <br /> relationships. <br /> e.
