ATTY/AGR/2017.179/REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS – RCSD AND RWC <br />REV: 08-22-17 RL <br />Page 1 of 9 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR SERVICE BETWEEN THE REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />AND THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />(Redwood City Community Schools) <br /> <br />This agreement is made as of this day of _________, 2017 by and between the <br />Redwood City School District (“RCSD”) and the City of Redwood City (“CITY”); these <br />entities are referred to collectively as the “PARTIES.” <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the PARTIES enter into an <br />agreement to provide funds to continue the Redwood City Community Schools, <br />located at Fair Oaks, Garfield, Hawes, Hoover, Kennedy, Selby Lane, and Taft <br />Schools, which are interagency school-based family resource centers providing <br />human services, health services, educational support a nd community <br />development activities to a community of approx imatel y 4,299 students and their <br />families; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CITY and RCSD will provide funding for the core operations of <br />the Redwood City Community Schools while RCSD will provide all serv ices <br />associated with this program , including staffing, oversight, and operations. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. SERVICES <br /> <br />The PARTIES agree to continue to provide support Redwood City Community <br />Schools to provide coordination and administrative support to interagency <br />school-based family resource centers at Fair Oaks, Garfield, Hawes, Hoover, <br />Kennedy, Selby Lane, and Taft Schools. These centers provide human services, <br />educational support and community development activities to approximately <br />4,299 students and their families. <br /> <br />A. Scope of Services <br />The PARTIES are entering into this agreement, in the manner provided for in <br />Section 11 Compensation and Funding, for the sole purpose of providing <br />assistance to and allowing the continuation of Redwood City Community <br />Schools, the goals of which are more fully described in Exhibit “A”. <br /> <br />B. Deliverables <br /> <br />RCSD staff will manage and coordinate the community school approach <br />(inclu ding wrap-around holistic serv ices, family e ngagement, extended day <br />learning programs, and other core elements of community schools) at <br />Fair Oaks, Garfield, Hawes, Hoover, Kennedy, Selby Lane, and Taft <br />Community Schools. <br /> <br />Redwood City Community Schools exist for six major purposes: <br />6.1.C. - Page 3
