.
This professional fees budget does not include reimbursable expenses, which include data
acquisition (County Business Patterns), travel (mileage, parking and tolls), delivery
services, facsimile machine use, photographs, production, reproduction, and long distance
telephone calls. These expenses are estimated at $2,750. The proposed scope of services
includes five project workshops, including the initial workshop to refine the project goals.
Additional meetings and workshops will be billed at our current hourly rates.
The RFP did not specify a time period for completion of this study. Therefore, we have
not prepared timing estimates for each major group of tasks. Because of the importance
of this assignment, its participatory orientation, and the linear nature of the tasks,
however, we recommend that the City allocate a minimum of six to eight months for
project completion. The business survey alone, as proposed, will likely require two
months from inceþtion to completion.
If data provided by client change during the course of the project, these factors will be
included in the analysis. However, this could result in extra professional fees, billed at
our standard professional hourly rates, and could delay study completion.
Billings will be sent monthly and are due within 30 days. Any unpaid balance is due
upon delivery of the final report. SKMG reserves the right to charge interest on bills not
paid within 30 days at the rate of 18 percent per annum. In the event of a legal dispute,
attorneys' fees will be paid by the non-prevailing party.
This scope of services does not cover professional services necessary in the event of
litigation. Any services necessary in that regard will be billed at SKMG's current
professional rates.
During the course of this assignment, if progress is stopped or delayed due to reasons
beyond our control, it will be necessary to bill for any excess work at our current hourly
rates. Such excess work could result from inefficiencies such as assessing changes in
market conditions, updating research, and other factors.
Client may terminate the services of Consultants at any time by giving written notice
thereof to Consultants. Consultants may withdraw from the representation of Qient at
any time by giving written notice thereof to Client.
