<br /> 15.1.3 A worker may be eligible for a salary adjustment to the next highest <br /> step above the initial step or rate to which appointment was made <br /> upon the satisfactory completion of six (6) consecutive months <br /> employment. An adjustment shall be made only upon the <br /> recommendation of the Department Head and upon approval of the <br /> City Manager. <br /> 15.1.4 Progression of workers from the second step to the third step of the <br /> salary plan may be made upon completion of a minimum period of <br /> one (1) year at the second step and upon consideration of such <br /> worker's performance of duties, experience, education, personal <br /> fitness for the position, and other criteria reasonably related to <br /> awarding increased compensation on the basis of merit. An <br /> adjustment shall be made only upon the recommendation of the <br /> Department Head and upon approval of the City Manager. Denial <br /> of a salary adjustment shall be made in writing. <br /> 15.1.5 Progression of workers from the third step to the fourth step and <br /> the fourth step to the fifth step of the salary plan will be based upon <br /> the completion of the period of one (1) year's service at the <br /> respective lower step. <br />15.2 Pay Period <br /> Workers shall be paid bi-weekly on Fridays. <br />15.3 Salary Increase on Promotion <br /> Promotional appointments shall be made at the salary step in the new salary <br /> range which results in a one-step increase in salary. Such appointment shall <br /> result in a salary increase of at least five percent (5%). In the event the <br /> promotional appointment is made at the second or higher step, the promoted <br /> worker shall be eligible for a salary increase in six (6) months following the <br /> promotional appointment. <br />15.4 Salary Increase on Reclassification <br /> Unless a higher rate of pay is mutually agreed upon by the parties, the <br /> reclassified worker(s) shall go to the first step of the new classification <br /> description, or shall receive a five percent (5%) increase in pay, whichever is <br /> greater. In the case of a five percent (5%) increase in pay, the worker(s) shall <br /> receive the five percent (5%) increase in pay even if that takes him/her between <br /> steps, until he/she reaches the maximum pay of the top step. <br /> 20 <br />
