<br />Fire Fighters to operate each reserve truck and one (1) firefighter to operate each rescue <br />truck dispatched for emergency service. <br />Depending on the number of personnel on duty, staffing for each station may vary. <br />Employees may refer to Operations Manual Division 5, Article 5-7, and "Apparatus <br />Staffing. " <br />It is agreed that reference to a minimum number of on-duty suppression personnel shall <br />be deleted from the departmental rules and all other City documents, and the requirement <br />to maintain any such minimum is no longer in effect. <br />SECTION 26 - PHYSICAL FITNESS PROGRAM <br />The City shall continue during the term of this MOU the mandatory Physical Fitness <br />Program for all Fire Fighters and Fire Captains who are assigned to a twenty-four (24) <br />hour work shift. There shall be no cost to the City for the Physical Fitness Program, and <br />it shall normally be conducted between the hours of 0830 and 0930 hours, but the <br />company officer may determine other times for physical activity as needed. <br />The parties agree that the Safety Committee can establish guidelines on any prohibited <br />physical fitness activities. <br />SECTION 27 - DRUG-FREE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES <br />The Parties agree that providing fire protection and emergency services to the <br />community, and the illegal use or possession by Fire Fighters of drugs, are incompatible <br />and unacceptable. <br />It is the obligation of employees not to be impaired due to drug use when they are to <br />report for, or when they are on duty; not to possess illegal drugs or to possess prescription <br />drugs without a bona fide prescription during duty hours or while on City property; not to <br />directly or indirectly sell or provide impairing drugs to a fellow employee while either or <br />both employees are on duty, except in the proper course of providing emergency medical <br />care to such fellow employees; and to notify hislher supervisor, before commencing <br />work, when taking any medications or drugs which may interfere with the safe and <br />effective performance of duties. <br />Supervisors may require that an employee submit to drug test when such supervisor has <br />reasonable suspicion that an employee is under the influence of drugs at a time when the <br />employee is to perform job duties and responsibilities. "Reasonable suspicion" means a <br />belief based on facts and circumstances sufficient to lead a reasonably prudent supervisor <br />to suspect that an employee is under the influence of drugs. <br />49 <br />
