<br /> EXHIBIT A <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER <br /> FISCAL YEAR 1997/98 <br /> CONTRACT OBJECTIVES <br />1 . Provide a quality preschool experience to at least 110 four year-old children which will <br /> lay a foundation for them to be successful in school and the community. <br />2. Provide support services to the families of the children enrolled which will enhance <br /> their mainstreaming into the Redwood City community and provide a crucial link <br /> between school and home by: <br /> A. Requiring parent participation in the classroom with a 3 hour minimum per <br /> month. <br /> B. Provide at least two parent educaiton seminars. <br /> C. Provide safety workshops with the police department and fire departments. <br /> D. Provide 1 CPR class. <br /> E. Hold monthly parent society meetings. <br /> F. Referrals to Social Services and other professionals as needed. <br />3. Provide opportunities for staff development which will keep the staff current with <br /> trends in Early Childhood Education by conducting or funding 2 staff in-service <br /> workshops per year where attendance will be required by by all staff members (8). <br />
