EXHIBIT A
CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
TEEN PREGNANCY COALITION OF SAN MATEO COUNTY
FISCAL YEAR 1997/98
CONTRACT OBJECTIVES
1 . Provide three 10-week sessions of Teen Talk to 150 students at Kennedy and McKinley
schools.
2. Provide lunches for these students while participating in Teen Talk.
3. 75% of students enrolled in the program will answer 90% of post test questions
accurately, showing an increase in knowledge about birth control, sexually transmitted
diseases, HIV, and sexual violence.
4. Implement the designed long-term evaluation of Teen Talk at Kennedy and McKinley
Schools.
All of the participating students in each of the three sessions (150 total)
at McKinley and Kennedy Schools will be given a questionnaire at the
beginnign and end of their session, and six months afterwards. A control
group with similar characteristics will be chosen to also be given the
questionnaires at the same times. The numbers in the control group wí/l
be smaller than those participating in the program, but large enough to be
statistically significaant. Results will be tabulated and analyzed by
Sociometries Corporation in Los Altos to give us an indication of wheter or
not and how much the program is changing attitudes ad behaviors of
students participating in the program. We will share the results of the
evaluation with funders.
-
