6.3.B. - Page 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY APPROVING THE TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR THE <br /> SEQUOIA HIGH SCHOOL BOOSTER CLUB'S SEQUOIA STAMPEDE 5K <br /> RUN/WALK FUNDRAISER <br /> WHEREAS, because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br /> traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br /> Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br /> thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br /> order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are permitted; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes the City to <br /> temporarily close a portion of any street for a local special event when the local authority <br /> determines the closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to <br /> use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and <br /> WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br /> hereby establish the following necessary partial street closures for the Sequoia High <br /> School Booster Club's Sequoia Stampede 5K Run/Walk fundraiser. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1 . On Saturday, September 16, 2017, Elwood Street, Katherine Avenue, Nevada <br /> Street, Outer Circle, Brewster Avenue, Topaz Street, and James Avenue, will be subject <br /> to temporary partial closures between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in order to allow the <br /> Sequoia High School Booster Club's Sequoia Stampede 5K Run/Walk fundraiser event <br /> to occur. <br /> ATTY/RESO.0081/CC RESO SEQUOIA STAMPEDE 5K RUN <br /> REV:08-23-17 MI <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br />
