RECEIVE PTA. - Page 169 <br /> JUL 5 2017 <br /> July 5,2017 <br /> City of Redwood City <br /> City Clerk <br /> Dear Redwood City Council- <br /> We understand the Redwood Village Business Owners have filed an appeal to the permit for Rocketship <br /> Charter School's request to move into the building at 860 Charter. The residents of the Redwood Village <br /> Neighborhood were unaware of the Planning Commission meeting where this was granted.We started a <br /> petition that was circulated between June 31St-July 4th. We asked the residents(18 years and older) and <br /> their visitors to sign. <br /> Our objection is not to the mission of the school or the students.We are in agreement that this is not a <br /> safe location for students of any age,especially elementary students. Delivery trucks as well as the <br /> vehicles from the businesses constantly double park making the streets a maze for regular traffic. <br /> Charter is a thoroughfare for locals as well as people coming to and from the neighborhood, Hoover <br /> School and Park, Costco,Orchard Supply and Sigonas.Granting the permit will guarantee additional <br /> problems,accidents and frustrated drivers. <br /> We urge you to deny the permit. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> LAI Sri <br /> Kathy Soulard <br /> 535 Flynn Ave <br /> 650-365-5815 <br /> soulardmk@yahoo.com <br />
