COpy 10/28/02 RESOLUTION NO. 1 4474 RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR MAIN STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee and the Redwood City Planning Commission has considered and recommended the creation of the Main Street Historic District; and WHEREAS, said proposed Main Street Historic District consists of the following addresses and parcel numbers: 726,800,831-835,839, and 847-849 Main Street, 1991,2000, 2020, and 2022-2024 Broadway, respectively. APN, 052-374-140,053-131-050,053-233-230, 053-233-130, 053-233-120, 053-233- 270, 052-374-180, 052-374-100, respectively; and WHEREAS, the proposed area contains improvements which have a special character, historic interest, and aesthetic value and which represent several architectural periods and styles typical to the history of the City, and which improvements constitute a district section of the City according to the following historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code): A. The area exemplifies and reflects special elements of the City's cultural aesthetic and architectural history; and B. The area is identified with persons and events significant in local, State and National History; and C. The area embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type, period and method of construction and is a valuable example of the use of indigenous materials and craftsmanship; and WHEREAS, in March 2002, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee created the document entitled "Main Street Historic District," setting forth with particularity, compliance by this proposed district with the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance, a copy of which is on file with the City Clerk's office. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOllOWS: 1.
