But again, because affected workers’ wages represent only 6.1 percent of all <br />workers’ wages in Santa Clara County, total wages in the county will increase by 1.0 percent. <br />Table 9 shows our estimates of the increase in business operating costs for Santa Clara County <br />for retail and restaurants, the two industries with the largest number of workers receiving a raise <br />under the proposed minimum wage law, as well as for businesses across all industries.
