MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />4. Downtown Improvement Committee (301 -06) <br />Report: City Manager 3/1/88 <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />accept the suggestion of Councilman Britschgi that Councilman Stangel with <br />Councilmen Bury and Laberge look into what is expected of the Downtown <br />Improvement Committee, inviting property owners and citizens to comment, and <br />to report back to Council with a recommendation. <br />MEMO 3/22/88 <br />Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Drive, recommended that the group include County <br />representatives in view of their need for additional office space and parking <br />and the importance of the County "industry" in the City. Mrs Spangler also <br />proposed a communitywide weekend meeting on the subject of downtown <br />improvement. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />4.1 Councilman Britschgi requested a staff report on the status of the removal of <br />artificial turf by the San Francisco Forty- Niners. <br />MEMO 3/22/88 <br />4.2 Councilwoman LaBerge asked a Council representative to serve as a judge for <br />the Mayor's Beautifiction Awards Program. Councilman Greenalch agreed to <br />serve. <br />MEMO 3/22/88 <br />4.3 Councilman Greenalch reported that on March 16, 1988, representatives of <br />Foster City, San Mateo, San Carlos, Belmont and Redwood City and their city <br />managers met and are drafting an ordinance regarding traffic matters. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />5. Legal Services Committee Report <br />Councilman Britschgi represented the subject report of March 18, 1988 <br />M /S: Brit schgi/Stangel to accept the Legal Services Committee report of <br />March 18, 1988 and make the recommended adjustment in the retainer for the <br />City Attorney. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote.
