M /S: L aBerge/Buch an <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10789 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO <br />NARCOTICS TASK FORCE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />4. Smoking Regulations <br />City Attorney Schricker presented the draft ordinance prepared at the request <br />of City Council and described the proposed regulations. <br />Stephen C. Hull, D.D.S., 377 Roble Avenue, representing Health Alliance of <br />San Mateo County, spoke in support of a strong ordinance regulating smoking <br />and offered the assistance of his organization. <br />Mr. Schricker thanked Mr. Hull for the assistance the Health Alliance has <br />already provided in connection with the preparation of the draft ordinance. <br />Dave Jensen, representing Ampex and the Chamber of Commerce, noted that it is <br />difficult to designate smoking areas and urged that the ordinance not be made <br />so restrictive it would be an encumbrance on employers. <br />Mayor Greenal ch asked Council mEmbers who wished to propose revisions to make <br />them in the form of separate motions at this time. <br />M /S: LaBerge /Claire in Section 15.1 (b) in the third line, insert <br />" particularly" between "hazard" and "for ". <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />5/16/88 <br />Page 5 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 48 <br />Page NO. 67 <br />
