Presentation of Beautification Awards (301 -06) <br />Vice Mayor LaBerge, Chairperson of the Beautification /Community Pride <br />Committee presented the Committee's first annual awards, as follows: <br />I <br />Most Improved Home Landscaping - Kent and Judy Johnson, 2.255 Brewster <br />Avenue. <br />Home Remodeling - First Place - Rudolfo and Lucia Ferro, 1645 Carleton <br />Court. <br />Home Remodeling - Second Place - Joe and Mary Kirby, 2471 Massachusetts <br />Avenue <br />Most Improved Home - Bill and Adria Murphy, 250 Arlington Road <br />Best Commercial Landscaping - Bradford Professional Center, 399 Bradford <br />Street, by DES <br />Most Beautiful Home - Jim and Kim Data, 1148 Hudson. <br />2.a Councilwoman Buchan reported on the success of the Union Cemetery Cleanup <br />Day on July Q, 1988 and thanked all of those who volunteered their Saturday <br />for the event. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />3. Public Hearing - Resolution of Intention of Planning <br />Commission to rezone Redwood Mobile Estates from R -T <br />( Industrial -- Restricted -- Transient Residential Units <br />Combining) District to R -2T (Residential-- Duplex -- <br />Transient Residential Units Combining) District <br />(203 -02) <br />Affidavits of publication of notice of hearing and of mailing are on file. <br />Report: Planning Commission record transmitted 6/13/88 <br />Mayor Greenalch declared the public hearing open at 8 :00 p.m. <br />Charles Hicks, 2053 East Bayshore, #85, Vice President, Redwood Mobile <br />Estates Homeowners Association, spoke in support of the proposed rezoning, <br />noting that residents have become apprehensive about the increase of <br />industrial development in the trailer park neighborhood. <br />Mayor Greenalch invited anyone else who wished to speak to do so. No one <br />else wished to speak. <br />M /S: Stangel /Murray to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 8:02 p.m. <br />Title read.
