CITY MANAGER REPORTS <br />7. City Facilities and Centre Area Revitalization Plan <br />(1801 -1p) <br />Report: Police Chief 7/1/88 <br />Deputy Chief Hamilton described the poor condition of the present police <br />facility and its inadequancy for present police department personnel and <br />functions. <br />Community Development Director Pawloski presented options suggested by the <br />architect consultant, Wendell Mounce, and alternate uses for the present <br />building site. Mr. Pawloski also referred to the subject report, Appendix E. <br />noting that a parking structure would be included as well as a new city hall <br />and residences. He also commented concerning the desirability of modifying <br />the old library for use of departments presently renting other space in the <br />City. <br />Nita Spangler, X70 Edgewood Road, suggested community comment should be <br />invited for full consideration of the proposals in the subject report. <br />M /S: Bury /Claire to authorize the modifications to the existing library <br />for City purposes to a level of expenditure of $2.00,000. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />M /S: Claire /Buchan to approve the concept of a multi -use residential/ <br />commercial /City Hall development and direct the Redevelopment Agency staff to <br />initiate the Request for Qualification process, noting that there is a <br />Redevelopment Agency Plan for the Centre Sub -area and that Plan should be <br />taken into consideration; and further, that when the Requests are received <br />that there will be a review by a screening committee. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -108 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />8.
