3. DISCUSSION <br />In response to questions the commissioners and executive director provided <br />the following information: <br />a. The port received a $2.1 million grant for maintenance dredging by <br />the Corps of Engineers using the Alcatraz fill site. <br />b. Portside Phase II is in the financial packaging phase of <br />development. <br />C. Port is preparing short, intermediate, and long term plans <br />to attract business from the Eastern Asian countries, and is <br />preparing marketing strategies for the Pacific Rim, including a <br />Sister Port Program. <br />d. Due to the successful efforts of city staff, port staff and other <br />lobbying groups and individuals, the original HR4272 was amended to <br />exclude certain port property. <br />e_ Plans for an Architectural Review Committee are being processed. <br />- - - - <br />---------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business, the Joint Meeting adjourned at 8 :30 p.m. <br />AR Y VC .
