Oral Communications (continued) <br />Mayor Greenalch advised Mr. Maskiewicz to go through the water rationing <br />appeal board process, and City Manager Smith advised he would expedite this <br />matter. <br />b. Thetis Pappas, 587 Seahorse Lane, Redwood City, asked the Council to hold <br />neighborhood Council meetings to involve more citizens. Council will <br />consider conducting neighborhood Council meetings as it did in the Spring <br />of 1988. <br />C. Mr. Joseph Svitek of the U.S. Geological Survey invited everyone to an open <br />house at 345 Middlefield Road, Menlo Park, November 19, 1988 from 10 a.m. to <br />4:00 p.m. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Mayor Greenalch and City Manager Smith referred to an article in the San <br />Mateo Times last Saturday referring to the supposed apathy of residents and <br />leaders of San Mateo County and advised a response would be forthcoming. <br />The City Manager advised he would make copies of the article available. <br />b. Councilwoman Buchan congratulated the Archives Committee on the success of <br />their planned walk through Union Cemetery on Veterans Day, with over 100 <br />people participating. <br />C. Councilman Murray reported on new legislation allowing Mobile Homes to <br />adopt a policy of "Seniors Only ", and its affect on affordable housing <br />available in Redwood City. Mayor Greenalch advised the City has the <br />opportunity right now to have input into this situation. Staff is to <br />advise Council on options available to the City. <br />MEMO 10/17/88 <br />d.
