7. Notices <br />Any written notice, request, demand or other communication required or permitted <br />hereunder shall be deemed to be properly given when deposited with the United States Postal <br />Service, postage prepaid, or when transmitted by facsimile communication, addressed: <br />In the case of County, to: <br />Dean D. Controlling Law. <br />The validity of this Agreement, the interpretation of its terms and conditions, and the <br />performance of the parties hereto shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. <br />9. Term and Termination <br />Subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement, the term of this <br />Agreement shall commence on July 1, 2001, and unless terminated in the manner set forth below, <br />this Agreement shall automatically be terminated on June 30, 2003 or be renewed from year to year <br />for successive one (1) year periods on the same terms and conditions, if notice is given by one of <br />the parties in writing no later than 90 days before the expiration period. This Agreement may be <br />terminated without cause by Contractor or the Director of Health Services or his/her designee at any <br />time upon thirty (30) days written notice to the other party. <br />10. Non -Discrimination Clause <br />No person shall be excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or be subject to <br />discrimination under this Agreement on the basis of their race, color, religion, national origin, age, <br />sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, childbirth or related conditions, medical condition, mental or <br />physical disability, or veteran's status. Contractor shall ensure full compliance with federal, state, <br />and local laws, directives, and executive orders regarding non-discrimination for all employees and <br />Subcontractors under this Agreement. <br />
