<br />Gentlemen,-
<br />Edw. F. Fitzpatrick of said Town of Redwood City hereby applies for the

<br />grant and issuance of a franchise,right and privilege to him,his assigns and successors,

<br />for the term of Fifty (50) t' gars from and after the date of the granting of same.,to con-
<br />struct,operate and maintain upon,over and across the streets ,roads ,avenues and highways
<br />hereinafter mentioned and described,a street railroad to be operated by eleotr1citYt9as,
<br />gasolene motors,horse 'pover or any other means of propulsion that may be hereafter used
<br />as the motive pouter for the operation of street rail-roads,and to erect poles and wires
<br />along the said streets, roads, avenues and high -ways for transmitting electric power along
<br />and upon the said streets, roads, avenues and high -ways for the purposes of said street

<br />Application is hereby also made that said franchise and privilege permit and author -
<br />i.ze the operation upon said streets, roads, avenues and high -ways ,for the period of time
<br />aforesaid,a street rail -road of standard ga_uge,and width,to-wit, Four (4) feet eight and

<br />one-half (8 1/2) inches,with double tracks (except as hereinafter provided otherwise),

<br />and necessary turn -outs; said tracks to be constructed upon said streets, roads ,avenues
<br />and high -ways so that there will be a distance of Five (5) feet six and one-fourth (b 1/4�
<br />inches from the center line of each track to the center line of said streets, roads :ave-
<br />nues and high-ways,and to be placed in such portions and parts of said streets ,roads,ave-
<br />nues and high -ways as may be provided for in and by said franchise,
