99 <br />tending down each side of Hancock street immediately adjacent to the curb lines to the <br />easterly line of ItiIain street, formerly Mound street, said culverts being situated within <br />the termination of Hancock street and Main street, formerly Mound street, and <br />A <br />, 5 -inch by 0 -inch corrugated iron arch culvert with concrete base, across Main street <br />in the Town of Redwood City, from a point on the easterly curb line of Main street,form- <br />erly Mound street, 37 feet south of the most southerly rail of the Southern Pacific Rail- <br />road Company's track as now constructed in a westerly direction in a straight line to <br />the'intersection of the northerly curb line of Elm Street and the westerly line of Main <br />street, formerly Mound street. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the Town <br />of Redwood City, to order the following work to be done ._,nd improvements to be made in <br />said Town, to -wit: - <br />That Plain street, formerly Mound street, in the 'Town of Redwood City be improved by <br />having the man -hole covers reset on the manholes at the following points and places, <br />to -wit: - <br />Manhole at center line of -lain street, formerly Mound street at intersection of south- <br />erly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right of way. <br />Manhole at the intersection of Main street, formerly Mound street and Beech street. <br />Manhole at the intersection of Main street,formerly Mound street and Cedar street. <br />Manhole at the intersection of Main street, formerly Iolound street and Chestnut street. <br />Manhole at the intersedtion of Main street, formerly Mound street and Pine street. <br />Manhole at the intersection of I,Iain street, formerly Mound street at center line <br />thereof, at center line of Buckeye street extended. <br />Manhole near the intersection of the center line of Main street,formerly Mound street <br />and center line of Spruce street, extended. <br />All the hereinabove and hereinbefore mentioned work and improvements are to be done <br />in accordance with the special plans and specifications heretofore adopted for doing said <br />work and improvements by the Board of Trustees of tIm Tovn of Redwood City, on the 21st <br />day of February, 1916, and now on file in the office of the Clerk, in the Town of Red- <br />wood City, to which plans and specifications reference is hereby made for a further de- <br />scription of said work and improvements and for further particulars. <br />Serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of 7 per cent per annum and extending over <br />the period of 9 years from the second day of January, next succeeding their date shall <br />be issued to represent assessments of twenty-five (y�25.00) dollars or over for the costs <br />and expenses of said work and improvements and in manner and in form provided by law. <br />RESOLVED, that the said Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City, hereby rejects <br />all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned and hereby awards the con- <br />tract for doing said work and improvements to the lowest responsible bidder,. to -wit: - <br />C. E. Blanchard and Karl Ehrhart , at the prices named in their; <br />bid. <br />The Town Clerk of said Town of Redwood City is hereby directed to post notice of this <br />award conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council Chamber door of the Board of <br />Trustees of said Town of Redwood City, and also publish notice of this award by two in- <br />sertions in the Times -Gazette, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said Town <br />of Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose by the Board of Trustees of said <br />Town, there being no daily or semie weekly newspaper published and circulated in said <br />Town of Redwood City. <br />All the herein described work and improvements shall be done in pursuance of and in <br />conformity with an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled, "Improve- <br />
