<br />Regular meeting of Board of Trustees held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present,Trustees President E.H.Sampson,Geo.A.Merrill,Geo.W.
<br />Mc.Nulty,Carl K.Mabie,Town Clerk W.A.Price,Absent Trustee H.C.Tuchsen.
<br />Minutes of the regular meeting held on August 7th.1916,were read and on motion of
<br />Trustee Merrill,seconded by Trustee me.Nuity,same be approved,Motion Carried.
<br />Communication from T.Ahern of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company in regard to ih.e
<br />East Brewster Avenue crossing was received and filed.
<br />Communication from the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce,and the Redwood Highlands
<br />Improvement Club regarding the flood water situation were on motion of Trustee Merrill,
<br />seconded by Trustee Mo.Nulty be received and filed.
<br />A petition from the residents in the vicinity of James Street asking the Board to take
<br />some action to prevent the recurrence of the Blood conditions of last winter,was on motion
<br />of Trustee Merrill,seoonded by Trustee Me.Nulty referred to the Street Committee,and Supt.
<br />of Streets. Motion Carried.
<br />A communication from the Geo.H.Irving Company,notifing the Board,they would send the
<br />plans and specifications covering the sewer work of Oak Knoll Manor was on motion of
<br />Trustee Merrill. seconded by Trustee Mabie be received and filed,Motion Carried.
<br />Communication from the League of California Municipalities was received and placed on
<br />file for future action.
<br />On motion of T�r`ustee Merrill,seconded by Trustee Mabie, the Supt.of Streets be instructel

<br />to remove palm tree in front of the new Theatre on Broadway,Motion Carried.
<br />The affidavit of D.E.O'Keefe in the matter of Publication of notice for application for
<br />a liquor license of Lionel Lewis was on motion of Trustee Merrill,seconded by Trustee Me.
<br />Nulty be received and filed.Motion Carried.
<br />On motion of Trustee Merrill,seconded by Trustee Mabie, the application of Lionel Lewis
<br />for a liquor license and the rebate of Lee Clark be laid over until next meeting,Motion
<br />Carried.
<br />Application from the Pavifie Gas & Electric Company for permission to make contacts. on
<br />pole of the Town of Redwood City as shown by BLUE PRINT # 22 R-attached,was on motion of
<br />Trustee Mo.Nulty,seconded by Trustee Mabie same be granted,Motion Carried.
<br />Report of Supt. of Streets Dickey on the cost of pipe line on Ashley Avenue was re-
<br />ceived and placed on file for future reference.
<br />On motion of Trustee Merrill. seconded by Trustee Mabie, the balance of Money now in the
<br />Park Fund,be devoted towards the temoving the high grass and tar weed along side -walks
<br />in different parts of the Town,Motion Carried.
<br />On motion of Trustee Merrill,seoonded by Trustee Me,Nulty, the Supt.of Streets be au-
<br />thorized to improve the intersection at Fuller Street, and Eaton Street, if he found same
<br />was included in bond issue of Ordinance No,119,adopted June 25th.1912.Motion Carried.
<br />On motion of Trustee Merrill,seeonded by Trustee Mabie,that Mrs.M.E.,Hanson be allowed.
<br />a rebate of I/3 over her regular minmium amount on her water bills for the months od June
<br />and July,Motion Carried.
<br />On motion of Trustee Mo.Nulty,seconded by Trustee Mabie the Supt.of Streets be authorizes
<br />to purchase 25-5/8 Empire Meters. Motion Carried.
<br />City Engineer Finlay presents the plans for the Flood Gates at the Bradford Street
<br />bridge.
<br />On motion of Trustee Mabie,seconded by Trustee Mc.Nulty the Clerk be instructed to
<br />write L1eut.Colonel Rees,of the War Department in behalf of the Board for permission to
<br />oonsbruct flood gates across Redwood Creek,at the southerly line of Bradford Street bridge
