The following resolution was presented by the Chamber of Commerce and was on motion of Trustee I, Ic.Nulty,seconded by Trustee Ryan,same be received;- //�Sa�yjaj� j°IHEREAS, the contemplated location of the concrete shipbuilding plant on San Francisco C5xtgn5lalj Bay by the U.S.Gove�ment offers an opportunity for Redwood Cij:y,which will mean an extensive 1101det 5-t development for the City and prosperity for all its citizens, and IYAtc!-J�IA/!, lfgrbor- WHEREAS,it is the opinion of the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of 1110 d Coimi,erce, the -t every effort should be made by a united Redwood City citizenship to aid the Alli/ Ste, Governmaht 'i:n: tts plans,and WHEREAS,develapments have shown that to attract the favorable attention of the U.S. Government to the Harbor of Redwood,it will be necessary for this community to offer special inducements in the shape of community cooperation, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce that Redwood City, can best aid the U.S.Go-bernment by providing transportation, to and from the Harbor front,housing for its employees,extension of the municipal water system to the Harbor lands, and a good road to the yards, THEREFORE BE IT RESODVED,by the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce, that the Board of Trustees be asked to submit to the voters of Redwood City,a proposition to bond the City of Redwood for the sum of 0 50,000 to meet the following requirements stipulated by the Committee named by the U.S.Government to select site for said concrete shipbuilding plant.
