Redwood City,May IOth.1918,8 o'clock P.M. <br />Regular adjourned meeting of the Board of Town Trastees held. <br />I <br />Upon rill call there were present, Trustees. 2resident Carl K.I4,,bie?A!.E.Ryan, Geo. hl.1de. <br />Nulty,J.C.Jones,Geo.A.Kreiss,and City Clerk W.A.Price. <br />The following resolution was presented by the Chamber of Commerce and was on motion <br />of Trustee I, Ic.Nulty,seconded by Trustee Ryan,same be received;- <br />//�Sa�yjaj� j°IHEREAS, the contemplated location of the concrete shipbuilding plant on San Francisco <br />C5xtgn5lalj Bay by the U.S.Gove�ment offers an opportunity for Redwood Cij:y,which will mean an extensive <br />1101det 5-t development for the City and prosperity for all its citizens, and <br />IYAtc!-J�IA/!, <br />lfgrbor- WHEREAS,it is the opinion of the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of <br />1110 d Coimi,erce, the -t every effort should be made by a united Redwood City citizenship to aid the <br />Alli/ <br />Ste, Governmaht 'i:n: tts plans,and <br />WHEREAS,develapments have shown that to attract the favorable attention of the U.S. <br />Government to the Harbor of Redwood,it will be necessary for this community to offer special <br />inducements in the shape of community cooperation, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of <br />Commerce that Redwood City, can best aid the U.S.Go-bernment by providing transportation, to <br />and from the Harbor front,housing for its employees,extension of the municipal water <br />system to the Harbor lands, and a good road to the yards, <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESODVED,by the Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of <br />Commerce, that the Board of Trustees be asked to submit to the voters of Redwood City,a <br />proposition to bond the City of Redwood for the sum of 0 50,000 to meet the following <br />requirements stipulated by the Committee named by the U.S.Government to select site for <br />said concrete shipbuilding plant. <br />Extension of Holder Street--- -- ------$79000.00 <br />1 <br />Extension of Water Main---------------- 6,000.00 <br />Extension of Harbor Highway------- -- 30,000.00 <br />Municipal Transporation System-------- 7,000.00 <br />} <br />Daniel R.Stafford. t <br />4 <br />t <br />• f <br />R.F.Chilcott. -} <br />F.K.Towne. <br />i <br />i <br />P.A.Ryan. <br />W;P.Graef. <br />J.B.Perry. <br />Redwood City,May 9th.1918.
