<br />'Whe'reas; The Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co has arbitarily raised the rates on telephon;)
<br />service and the patrons of same have had no recourse and
<br />Whereas; The commercial activities of this community have been seriously affected and the
<br />citizens of this community will suffer for lack of communication relative to
<br />police and fire ptotection on account of a strike now existing with this
<br />corporation, and
<br />Whereas; The employees of this Company have refrained from participation in labor
<br />difficulties during the war and remained patriotric and loyal, and
<br />Whereas, The said employees have endeavored during the past seven months to reach an
<br />meso%rii.,ry amicable adjustment and have been repulsed and refused hearing by'the Post -Master^
<br />%aa.Te / d -e, General , and
<br />L�o,n`f0/1 Whereas; The said employees are merely asking for a cfair wage,therefor be it
<br />Resolved; that the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City,assembled do hereby call
<br />upon the said Pacific Telephone & Telegralh Co for an immediate restoration of
<br />service and do further request the said Company to grant a fair and equitable
<br />wage to its employees, and be it further
<br />Resolved. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above Company.
