<br />The following communication from the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company in relative
<br />to removal of their poles.

<br />SAN FRANCISCO,October I,1919.
<br />Dear Sir;
<br />Pursuant to the understanding with the Trustees dig the IRown of Redwood City by
<br />the undersigned,representing the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company,at a meeting held
<br />in the City Hall of your City on the evening of September.29th.it'is agreed that the poles
<br />and,gquipment,belonging to this Company,shall be removed from along Broadway,between the
<br />Southern.Pacific right o1g way and 12ain Street,and from along Main Street,from Broadway sou
<br />to the Southern Pcific right of way, and that the construction and rearrangement necessary
<br />for the removal of said poles and equilbment from these streets shall be done within a
<br />period of three years.
<br />In the event,however, that the City has not removed its wires and equipment,which
<br />are attached to said poles of the Telephone Company,within three years,then the Telephone
<br />Company will remove its poles and qquipment thereafter as soon as practicable,upon the
<br />removal by the City of its wmres and equipment from said poles. '
<br />This letter is transmitted in duplicate.
<br />Please signify on•the copy,the acceptance of this understanding by the Board, and return
<br />s the same to me.
