<br />On motion of Trustee Mc,Nulty,seeonded by Trustee Jones,the Clerk and Supt,of Water System
<br />be instructed.to investigate the price of cast iron water pipe and if the bid of the United
<br />States Cast Iron Pipe and Foundary Company -is satisfactory, to order said pipe,motion
<br />carried,
<br />Application of a Carnival Company to exhibit in this Town sometime during the month of
<br />May,was on motion of Trustee Me.Nulty,seconded by Trustee Ryan, the amount of license to
<br />be fixed by the Town Marshall,but said license not to be less than 0 50,00 dollars per
<br />day,motion Carried,
<br />Trustee Mc.Nulty offers the following Resolution and moves its adoption, Trustee Jones
<br />seconds the motion;-
<br />RESCLVED,that the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City respectfully urge upon
<br />the President of the United States to defer the proposed sale of the German merchant fleet
<br />captured during the late war as well as all other ships both wooden and iron constructed
<br />by the United States during said war,to any other than Ameri6an ownership who will guarantee
<br />to fly the American flag, and
<br />BE it farther Resolved that this Board urge upon the President the expediency of operating
<br />all of said ships under goverment auspices,thus preventing a great financial,and rendering
<br />said ships available as Naval Auxi.11iaries in time of war, and
<br />Be it further Resolved that this Board place itself on record as favoring legislation
<br />designated tto prevent the sale of all of said ships under any conditions other than
<br />expressed herein, and be
<br />It further Resolved that the Clerk of this Board be, and he is hereby directed to forward
<br />copies of this Resolution to the President of the United States,to the Chairman of the
<br />United States Shipping Board, and to the Senator and Representative of this district in
<br />Congress,
<br />Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the said Town of
<br />Redwood City,County of San Mateo,State of California,held on the 16th.day of February,1920

<br />election which is to be held in said Town on. Monday,April I2,192O,by publishing such
<br />advertisement once in the Redwood City Democrat,a weekly newspaper of general circulation
<br />published and circulated in said Town.Said advertisement shall be substantially in the
