' <br />Application and fee of`Sam Tong for a permit to conduct a laundry 6i' 420 Maple Street was <br />on motion of Trustee Beeger,seconded by Trustee Monteith said application be granted,Motion <br />Carried. <br />Application of the O.K.C1ub for a permit to hold a dance in I.O.O.F.Hall'-on Saturday <br />evening June 9th.1923 until I "'clock was garnted on motion of Trustee'IIonteith,seconded. <br />by Trustee Beeger and carried. <br />Communication from E.B.Fox local agent for the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company asking <br />for the renewal f the policy in the sum of $ 8000.00 on the Seagrave Fire Engine was on <br />motion of Trustee Beeger;seconded by Trustee Monteith ,id-r.Fox be given the renewal,Motion <br />carried. <br />On motion of Trustee Monteith, seconded by Trustee Beeger and carried,lDity Engineer'Bimmitt <br />be given an allowance of 9" I0.00 per month for office rent, <br />Trustee Mabie offers the following Resolution and movers its ad6ption;T'rmstee,Monteith <br />seconds the motion,Motion Carried. <br />"WHEREAS the Town of Redwood City is situated on Redwood Creek;an arm of the San Franciv <br />co Bay, and has annexed certain lands fronting on deep water near the mouth of said oaeek; <br />and <br />17HEREAS the united States Goverment has from time to time appropriated funds to develox <br />said water front; and <br />VIHERPU the Board of Trustees of said Town of Redwood City desires to encourage the. <br />location of industrial plants on its water front; and <br />WHEREAS the said Board of Trustees believes that a low level bridge across San Francs <br />co Bay notth of Redwood Creek and between Little Coyote Point and the Alameda County shore <br />line restricting the present channel which is exposed to the full sweep pf the wind and <br />tide and frequent fogs, will interfere with and menace'navigation to and from Redwood City. <br />140111 THEREFORE, 'the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City does hereby formally <br />protest against permitting the construction of said proposed bridge, and does hereby direct <br />that a certified copy of this resolution be forthwith forwarded by the clerk to Herbert <br />Deakyne,Colonel,Corps of Engineers, San Francisco,Claifornia.1, <br />I William Frice,City Clerk of the Term of Redwood City,do hereby certify that the <br />foregoing is a fgll,true and correct copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the <br />Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City, at a regular meeting of said Board hold -on <br />the 4th.day of June,1923. <br />IN WITITESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of said Town of Redwood <br />City this 5th.day of June,1923. <br />N.A.Price. <br />------------------------------ <br />City Clerk. <br />Reports of Treasurer,Tax Coll ector,Idiarshall,Poundmaster,Building and Plumbing and Electrical <br />Inspector was on motion of Trustee; r'Iabie,seconded by Trustee Beefier said reports be received <br />and filedoMotion Carried. <br />
