<br />Regular adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Trustees President G.W*McNulty,C.K.Mabie,A.E.Monteith,
<br />H.A.Beeger,M.E.Ryan,City Clerk W.A.Price.
<br />Moved by Trustee Monteith,seconded by Trustee Beeger and carried, the minutes of
<br />regular meetings held July 2nd.July 16th.August 6th, and adjourned meeting held August
<br />13th.1923 same be approved as read.
<br />Application of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company for permission to set one pole on
<br />Norman Street as per BLUE PRINT f 790 R.and permission to set 13 poles on Madison,Hawes,
<br />Jefferson.Avenue and King Street as per BLUE PRINT # 791 was on motion of Trustee
<br />Monteith,seconded.by Trustee Beeger and carried said permits be granted.
<br />Communicatioh.from the Redwood City Progress Club correcting error in their last
<br />communication was on motion of Trustee Beeger,seconded by Trustee Monteith same be received
<br />end filed,Motion Carried.
<br />Application of St.Iuiary's Guild for a permit to hold a dance in Woman' Club House on
<br />Friday evening August 31st*I923 same was granted on motion of Trustee Monteith,seconded
<br />by Trustee Ryan and carried.
<br />Trustee Mabie offers ORDINANCE No.237 -Fixing the amount of money to be raised by
<br />taxation for years 1923-24,Trustee Monteith seconds 'the motion,Motion Carried.
<br />Trustee .Ryan offers the following Resolution and moves its adoption,,_to-reit;
<br />The Board -of Trizst.ees of the Town of Redwood City does hereby deter mine and resolve as
<br />follows,to-wit;
<br />Section I. That the public interest and public necessity of said municipality,said Town of
<br />Redwood City, and the inhabitants thereof,demand the acquisition,construction and com-
<br />pletion of the following municipal improvement in and for said Town,to-wit;
<br />The purchase and acquisition of the property,both veal and personal,of the Redtivood
<br />City Water Company, a corporation,consisting of real property and buildings situated
<br />thereon,rights of Njay,water ri ghtd 9 wells, pumps, pipe lines, compressors, tanks and machinery
<br />and situated near the northerly end of Chestnut Street,in said Town of Redwood City.
<br />Section 2. That the publicninterest and public necessity of said municipality,said
<br />Town of Redwood City, and of the inhabitants thereof,demand the acquisition,construction
<br />and completion of the following municipal improvement in and for said Town,to-wit;
<br />The construction of a concrete bridge and concrete retaining wall on Jefferson Avenue
<br />across the creek between Grand Street and Hudson Street,in said Town of Redwood City.
<br />Section 3. That the public interest and public necessity of said municir^.lits,.;�id Town

<br />The construction of an oatfall sewer twelve inches in diameter,commencing at the man-
<br />hole now in place on I,iain Street at Bradford Street,and extending westerly along Bradford
<br />street to Arguello Street and thence easterly along Arguello Street to Broadway and thence
<br />westerly along Broadway to connect with manhole at Minnie Street,wi•th a branch consisting
<br />of a sewer ten inches in diameter extending from Bradford and Arguello Streets, northwesterly
<br />along Arguello Street to Brewster Avenue and thence southwesterly along Brewster Avenue to
<br />connect with manhole at intersection of Brewster avenue and El Camino Real,in said Tom of
<br />Redwood City.
<br />Section 4. That the cost of said w,rk and im-arovemonts abo-be described and of each
<br />of said work and improvements is too great to be -paid out of the ordinary annual income
<br />and revenue of said mom of Redwood City, emd said improvements and each of said improve-
<br />ments will require an expenditure greater than the amount allowed for said improvements
<br />and each of said improvema is by the annual tax levy, and it is the intention of the Board
<br />of Trustees of t'.le To= of Redwood City to have and secure said improvemebts and each of
<br />said improvements and every one of said mproveiments to be made,acquired,constructed and
<br />established.
<br />And said Board of Trustees does hereby determine that all necessary and proper proceed-
<br />ings be, and the saLie shall be taken and had as provided by the laws of the State of
<br />California, for the parpose and to the end of having,acquiring,mal:ing,constructing, com-
<br />pleting and establishing such municipal improvements and each and every one of said im-
<br />provements.
<br />Trustee I.'abie seconds the motion, and upon toll call the sone was pasted and
<br />adopted at a remlar adjourned meetinu of the Board of Trustees of the Toon of Redwood
