186 improvements, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City,County of San Mateo,State of California, hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said Town to -wit; That the following streets In the Tonin of Redwood City be Impr9ved by having constructed thereon and therein sewers, manholes, wyes and laterals, as 4 follows, td -wit: That a six (6) Inch vitrified salt - glazed tile pipe sewer be constructed on Spring.street, commencing at the man- hole tiow In place at the center line of Spring Street and the center line of ' Maple Street- and extending easterly along the cetiter line of Spring Street to connect ivith manhole near center line of Chestnut Street; and also that four .(4) brick manholes with cast iron frames and covers be constructed along the line of said sewer on Spring Street; One manhole at the center line of Cas- sia Street; One manhole at the center line of Elm Street; One manhole at the center line of Beech Street and one 1 manhole at the center line of Cedar - ,Street; and also that ten (10), fpur (4) Inch, vltrifled salt glazed the pipe sew- er laterals be constructed along the .line of said sewer on Spring Street, aid extending to the property line on the northeasterly side thereof: and also that four (4) Inch. vitrified salt . ,glazed tile pipe sewer laterals be con- structed on the line of said sewer on Spring Street, and extending from the '.main sewer in the center of the street jto the property lines on the southwest- erly side thereof at the following plac- es, to -wit: One (1) such lateral each to lot one (1) and lot twelve (12), Block 10; and one such lateral each to lots 1 and 12, `Block 11, one (1) such lateral each to lots 1 and 12 Bloclrl9, one (1) such lat- eral each to lots 1 and 1.2 Block 13, and one (1) such lateral each to lots 1 and 12, Block 14, as said lots and Blocks are shown on the map of Sweeny's Ad- dition to Redwood City. That a six (6) Inch vitrifled salt - glazed the pips sewer be constructed on 'Hilton Street commencing at a man- hole to be constructed at the center line of Hilton Street and the center line of Cassia Street and extending easterly along the center line of Hilton Street to connect with manhole now in place »ear the center line of Chestnut Street: and also that four (4) brick manholes with cast iron frames and covers he con- structed along the line of said sewer on Hilton Street at the following plac- es, to -unit: one (1) manhole at the cen- ter line of Cassia and Hilton Streets, one (1) manhole at the center of Elm and MIton Streets, one (1) manhole at tithe center line of Beech and Hilton Streets. and one manhole at the center line of Cedar and Hilton Streets; and also that four (4) Inch vitrifled salt - glazed tile pipe sewer laterals be con- structed along the line of said sewer on Hilton Street extending from the main sewer to the property lines on both sides of said street to the follow- ing lots to -wit: One (1) such lateral each to lots 6 and 7, block 10, 6 and 7, Block 11, 6 and 7, Block 12, 6 and 7, Block 13, 1 and 9 Blot -.k 3, 1 and 7, Block 4 1 and 5, Block 5. 1 and 3. Block 6, as sold lots and blocks are shown upon said last mentioned map. That 'a six (6) inch vitrified salt - glazed tile pipe sewer be constructed along the center line of Cassia Street commencing at it manhole to be con- structed at the center line 'of Cas- sia Street and the conter line of Wil- ton Street, and extending northeaster- ly nlong the center line of Cassia Street to connect with the manhole to be constructed at the center line of Spring Street; that four (4) Inch vitri- fied salt -glazed tile pipe sewer lateral be constructed, along the line of said sewer on Cassia Street and extending from the mail sewer to the property lines on both sides of said street to the. following lots to -wit: One (1) such lateral each to lots 8 ,and 9, 10 and 11. Block 13, and one (1) such lateral each to lots 2, 3, 4, 5: and G. Bloch 14, as shown on last mentioned map. Than a six (6) Inch vitrified salt - glazed tile pipe sewer be constructed along the center line of Elm Street, commencing at a manhole to ba con- structed at the center line of Elm Street, at the center line of Hilton Street, and extending northeasterly along the center line of Elm Street to connect with manholeto be constructed at center line of Spring Street; that four (4) inch vitrified salt -glazed tile pipe sewer laterals he constructed along the sewer on Elm Street and ex- tending from main sewer to the pitop- erty lines on both sides of said street to the following lots, to -wit: One (1) such lateral each to lots 8 and 9, 10 and 11. Block 12. .One (1) such lateral each to lots 2, 3, 4, and 5, Bloch 13, as shown on the last mentioned map. That n six (6) Inch vitrified salt - glazed tile pipe sewer be constructed along the center line of Beech Street commencing at n manhole to be con- structed at the center line of Beech Street and the center line of Hilton Street and extending northeasterly along the center line of Beech Street, i to connect with manhole to he con- structed at center line of Spring Street; that also four (4) Inch vitrified salt - glazed the pipe sewer laterals be con- structed along the lineof said sewer on Beech Street and extending from the main sewer in the center of said street to the property lines on both sides thereof, to the following lots, to - wit: One (1) such lateral each to lots 8 and 9, 10 and 11, Block 11 ,and one (1) such lateral each to lots . 2, 3 4, and 5, Block 12 as shown on the last mentioned' map. That a six (6) Inch vitrified salt - glazed tile pipe sewer be constructed along the center line of Cedar Street commencing at a manhole to be con- structed at the center line of Cedar Street and the center line of diilton Street, and extending northeasterly along the center line -of Cedar Street to connect with manhole to be con- structed at center line of Spring Street; and also that four (4) Inch vitrified salt -glazed tile pipe sewer laterals be constructed along the line of said sewer on Cedar Street extending from the main sewer in the center on The street to the property lines on both sides thereof, to the following lots to - wit: One (1) 'such lateral each to lots 8 and 9, 10 'and 11, Block 10, and one such Interal each to lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Bloch 11 as shown on the last mention- ed map. That a six (6) Inch vitrified salt - glazed the pipe sewer to be constructed along the center line of Buckeye Street commencing at the center line of Hel- ler Street and extending southwesterly, ,along the center line of Buckeye Street to manhole to be constructed at a point fifty (50) feet northeasterly from the northeasterly line of Chew Street; and also that one (1) brick manhole with cast iron frame and cover be con- structed on the line of said sewer on Buckeye Street at a point fifty feet northeasterly from the northeasterly line of Chew Street; and also that four (4) Inch vltrifled salt -glazed tile pipe sewer laterals be constructed along the line of said sewer on Buckeye Street and extending from the main sewer in the center of the street to, the prop- erty line on both sides thereof, to the following lots, to -wit; one (1) such lateral to the dividing line between lots 1 and 2 and lots 3 and 4, and lots 5 and 6, In Block 46, and one (1) such lateral each to the dividing line between lots 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12, block 38, ,all as shown on the man of Eastern Ad: dition to Redwood City. That a six (6) Inch vitrified salt - glazed tile pipe sewer be constructed along the center line of Manzanita. Street commencing at a manhole now in place at the center line of Manzanita Street and the center line of Phelps Street and extending southwesterly ,along the center line of Manzanita Street to a manhole to be constructed at a point fifty (50) feet northeasterly from, the northeasterly line of Chew Street; And also that one (1) brick manhole with cast, iron frame and cover be con- structed along the line of said sewer on Manzanita Street at a point fifty (50) feet northeasterly from the north- easterly line of Chew Street; and also that four (4) inch vitrifled salt -glazed the pipe sewer laterals be constructed along the line of said sewer on Manz,a- nita Street and extending from the tualn sewer In the center of said street to the property lines on both sides thereof t9 the following places to -wit: One (1) such lateral each to lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,and 6, Block 31 and one (1) such lateral each to lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, block 30, and one (1) such later- al each to lots 7, 8, 9 10� 11 and 12, Block 21, one (1) such'lateral each to lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 Block 20, all as shown on the map of the Eastern Addition to Redwood City. Al) the foregoing mentioned and described laterals are to be connected with train sewer upon the various streets hereinbefore mentioned by four (4) Inch by six (6) inch vitrified salt - glazed the pipe sewer wyes, a separate wye'being used for each lateral. Whenever manholes or lampholes are to be constructed along the lines of any sewer hereinbefore mentioned, said lampholes and manholes shall be con- nected with said sewers. Whenever any sewer Is to be con- structed as hereinbefore set forth, and -there are lampholes and manholes existing along the line thereof said sewer is to be connected }with said existing' lampholes or manholes. The map of Sweeny's Addition to Red- wood City referred to herein is of record In the Recorder's office of the County of San Mateo, Slate of Califor- nia, in Map Book "C" at page 3Q. The map of Eastern Addition ,of Red- wood Cita'. referred to herein is of rec- ord in the Recorder's office of the Coun- ty of San Mateo, State of California, In book 4 of Miscellaneous Records at page 308. All the hereinbefore and herein- above mentioned kand described work and improvements are to be done in ac- cordance with the special plans and specifiewtiens heretofore adopted for doing said work and making said im- provements on the 18th day of rebru- arl', 1924, by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City which plans and specifications are now on flle in the office of the Cleric of said Town and to which plans and specifications reference is hereby made for a further description and location of said work and Impovements and for further par- ticulars, and the same are made a part hereof. And it Is further resolved by the Board of Trustees ofthe Town of Red- wood City that serial bonds bearing in- terest at the rate of seven ((7%) per cent per annum and extending over a period of three (3) years from the 2nd day of January next succeeding their (late shall be issued to represent as- sessment of twenty-flve ($25.00) dol- lars or over for the cost and expenses of said work and improvements and In manner and form provided by law. The grades to which the work above mentioned shall be done and made are shown on the plans and profiles there- fore heretofore adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City and now on file In the ,otfice of the Clerk of said Town to which said plans and profiles reference is hereby made for the description of such grades. All the herein proposed work and im- provements shall be done in pursuance of and In conformity with an Act of the Legislature of the State of Califor- nia ,entitled "IMPROVENCONT ACT of 1911", Approved April 7th, 1911, and acts amendatory thereof. The Town Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work and improvements together with the plans,profiles and specifications therefor,conspicuously for five days on or near the Council Chamber door of said Board of Trustees inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered;he is also directed to publish a notine inviting such sealed proposals and referring to the plans,profi.les and specifications posted or on file,in the Redwood City Standard, a weekly newspaper published,printed and circulated in said Tovm,(there being no daily or semi-we,3kly newspaper published or ptinted therein) and hereby designated for that purpose by said Board of Trustees.
