<br />AN ORDINANCE TO PROTECT THE
<br />PUBLIC HEALTH, PEACE AND
<br />SAFETY OF THE INHABITANTS
<br />OF THE TOWN OF REDWOOD CITY
<br />BY REGULATING THE ESTABLISH-
<br />MENT AND MAINTENANCE OF
<br />PRIVATE AUTO CAMPS IN THE
<br />TOWN OF REDWOOD CITY. THE
<br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
<br />TOWN OP REDWOOD CITY DO OR-
<br />DAIN AS FOLLOWS, TO'WITt
<br />SECTION 1. For the purpose of pro-
<br />tecting the public health, peace and
<br />safety of the Inhabitants of the Town
<br />of Redwood City it is hereby declared
<br />unlawful for any person, persons, com-
<br />pany or corporation, either as owner.
<br />manager or employee to establish and
<br />maintain in the Town of Redwood City
<br />an auto camp without a written per-
<br />mit from the Board of Trustees of
<br />said Town. Any application for such
<br />permit shall be In writing and shall
<br />state the name of the person, persons,
<br />company or corporation Intending to
<br />conduct said auto camp together with
<br />a description of the property upon
<br />which same Is to be located.
<br />SECTION II. For the purpose of
<br />protecting the public health, peace and
<br />safety of the Inhabitants of the Town
<br />of Redwood City It is hereby declared
<br />unlawful for any person, persons, com-
<br />pany or corporation conducting and
<br />maintaining any auto camp in the
<br />Town of Redwood City to allow or per-
<br />mit any person to stop at or live at
<br />such auto camp for a longer periodof
<br />time than seven (7) days In succession,
<br />It being the intention of said Board of
<br />Trustees as a health, peace and safety
<br />measure to keep people from stepping
<br />and living at auto camps for long per-
<br />lods of time.
<br />SECTION III. For the purpose of
<br />protecting the public health, peace and
<br />safety of the Inhabitants of the Town
<br />of Redwood City it Is hereby declared
<br />unlawful for any person to stop at or
<br />live at any auto camp In the Town of
<br />Redwood City for a longer period of
<br />time than seven (7) days In succession.
<br />SECTION IV. It is hereby made the
<br />duty of every ,person, persons, com-
<br />pany or corporation conducting or
<br />maintaining an auto camp in the Town
<br />of Redwood City to keep a register
<br />wherein they shall set down the names
<br />of the various persons stopping at
<br />their camp together with the make of
<br />auto used, engine number of auto used
<br />and number of State auto license and
<br />State from which auto Is registered
<br />and also the name and location of last
<br />auto camp stopped at If any. This
<br />register shall always be open to the
<br />Inspection of .the police and health de-

<br />partments of the Town of Redwood
<br />City.
<br />SECTION V. It Is hereby made the
<br />duty of any person, persons, company
<br />or corporation conducting or maintain -
<br />Ing any auto camp under the provis-
<br />ions of this ordinance to keep posted In
<br />each tent, building or compartment
<br />used for camping purposes a set of
<br />rules and regulations embodying in
<br />concise terms the penal provisions of
<br />this ordinance.
<br />SECTION VI. An auto camp as men-
<br />tioned in this ordinance Is defined to
<br />be a camp, camp ground or piece of
<br />real property where persons are al-
<br />lowed or permitted for a certain fee
<br />to camp, stop, live or remain.
<br />•SECTION VII. Any person, persons,
<br />company or corporation violating any
<br />of the provisions of this ordinance
<br />shall be deemed guilty of a misdemean-
<br />or and upon conviction thereof shah
<br />be punished by a fine not exceeding
<br />two hundred ($299) dollars or by Im-
<br />prisonment in the County Jail of the
<br />County of San Mateo', State of Callfor-
<br />nin'not exceeding ninety (99) days, or
<br />by both such fine and imprisonment,
<br />and every day during which a violation
<br />of this ordinance shall continue 'shall
<br />be and constitute a separate offense.
<br />SECTION VIII. All ordinances or
<br />parts or ordinances in conflict with this
<br />ordinance are hereby repealed.
<br />SECTION IY. This ordinance shall
<br />be published once in the Redwood City
<br />Standard, a weekly newspaper pub-
<br />lished, printed and circulated In said
<br />Town of Redwood City and shall take
<br />effect and be in force from and after
<br />thirty days from and after Its pass-
<br />age.

<br />Passed and adopted as an ordinance
<br />of the Town of Redwood City by the
<br />Board of Trustees of said Town at a
<br />regular meeting of said Board hold on
<br />the 9th day of March, 1925, by the fol-
<br />lowing vote:

<br />Ryan.
