<br />111EE27AS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City did in open session
<br />on the 9th day of AuCaat, 19::6, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed _vroposals
<br />or bids for doing the fpllowing work and,making the following improvements in said Town
<br />of Redwood City, to -Brit:
<br />That Vera Avenue from the
<br />southwesterly line of Fulton
<br />Street to the southwesterly line of
<br />King Street extended northwest-
<br />erly across Vera Avenue; King
<br />Street from the northwesterly line
<br />of Roosevelt Avenue to the south-
<br />easterly line of Vera Avenue;
<br />Hudson Street from the north.
<br />westerly line of Vera Avenue to
<br />the southeasterly line of Madison
<br />Avenue; and Madison Avenue
<br />from the southwesterly line of
<br />Fulton Street to a line across
<br />Madison Avenue 23.80 feet south-
<br />westerly from and parallel to the
<br />southwesterly line of Hudson
<br />Street extended northwesterly
<br />across Madison Avenue, including
<br />all street and avenue intersections
<br />and terminations and portions
<br />thereof included within the lines
<br />of the several streets and ave-
<br />nues above described, be im-
<br />proved as follows, to -wit:
<br />That the said streets and ave-
<br />nues and portions thereof above
<br />described be graded and that
<br />the roadways of said streets and
<br />avenues and portions thereof above
<br />described be paved with a four
<br />(4) inch asphaltic concrete pave-
<br />ment on a three (3) inch base
<br />or cushion of broken stone. There
<br />Is excepted, however, from the
<br />above described work a strip
<br />eighteen (18) inches In width im-
<br />mediately adjacent to the curb
<br />lines on both sides of the herein-
<br />before mentioned and described
<br />streets and avenues that are to
<br />be paved which is reserved for
<br />gutters, provided, however, that
<br />a two (2) inch base or cushion
<br />of broken stone shall be placed
<br />under all gutters to be built as
<br />herein provided.
<br />That hydraulic cement concrete
<br />combination curb and gutter be
<br />constructed on both sides of all
<br />the hereinbefore mentioned and
<br />described streets and avenues and
<br />portions thereof that are to be
<br />paved, the curb portion of said
<br />combination curb and gutter to
<br />be six (8) inches across the top
<br />and eleven (11) inches deep, and
<br />the gutter portion of said combi-
<br />nation curb and gutter to be
<br />eighteen (18) Inches wide and to
<br />be six (8) inches thick next to
<br />the pavement and five (5) inches
<br />thick next to the curb, and said
<br />combination curb and gutter to
<br />be constructed at one time so
<br />that there shall be no joint be-
<br />tween the curb and gutter. Said
<br />combination curb and gutter shall
<br />be constructed upon all corners
<br />of intersecting and terminating
<br />streets and avenues within the
<br />lines of the streets and avenues
<br />hereinbefore described to be
<br />paved.
<br />The width of the streets and
<br />avenues above described and the
<br />width of the roadways of said
<br />streets and avenues, and the
<br />width of the sidewalks of said
<br />streets and avenues, are to be
<br />and are as shown on the plans,
<br />profiles and specifications here-
<br />inafter particularly, referred to
<br />herein.
<br />That the official elevations for
<br />the street grades of said streets
<br />and avenues and portions thereof,
<br />crown grades, curb grades and
<br />grade elevation for top of gut-
<br />ters be changed, and grades dif-
<br />ferent from those established or
<br />adopted prior to the adoption by
<br />the Board of Trustees of said
<br />Town of Redwood City of the
<br />plans, profiles and specifications
<br />hereinafter referred to herein
<br />shall be adopted, and 'such official
<br />and different and prior grades
<br />shall be modified and are hereby
<br />modified and changed so that the
<br />official grades shall be and con.
<br />form to the grades as shown on
<br />the plans, profiles and specifi.
<br />cations for said work and im-
<br />provements, which plans, profiles
<br />and specifications were hereto.
<br />fore adopted by the Board of
<br />Trustees of the Town of Redwood
<br />City on the 21st day of June,
<br />1920, by "Resolution Adopting
<br />Plans and Specifications No. I.9;'
<br />which plans, profiles and specifi-
<br />cations are now on file In the
<br />office of the Cleric of said Town
<br />of Redwood City. All the work
<br />and improvements herein de-
<br />scribed shall be (lone and made
<br />to such new official grades as
<br />shown on the plans, profiles and
<br />specifications hereinbefore men-
<br />tioned, to which plans, profiles
<br />and specifications reference is
<br />hereby made for a description of
<br />the grades at which said work is
<br />to be done and said improvements
<br />made, and the same are made a
<br />part hereof.
<br />All the hereinbefore and here-
<br />inabove 'mentioned and described
<br />work and improvements are to
<br />be done in accordance with the
<br />special plans, profiles and spool,
<br />fications hereinbefore herein men-
<br />tioned, which plans, profiles and
<br />specifications are now on file
<br />in the office of the Clerk of the
<br />Town of Redwood City, and to
<br />which plans, profiles and specifi-
<br />cations reference is hereby made
<br />for an accurate, detailed and com-
<br />plete description and location of
<br />said work and Improvements, and
<br />the same are made a part hereof.
<br />And the Board of Trustees of
<br />the Town of Redwood City does
<br />hereby determine and declare
<br />that the foregoing described work
<br />and improvements are of more
<br />than local or ordinary public ben.
<br />efit and will affect and benefit
<br />the lands and district hereinafter
<br />mentioned, which said district Is
<br />hereby declared to be the dis-
<br />trict benefitted by said work and
<br />Improvements; and therefore the
<br />entire costs and expenses of said
<br />work and improvements shall be
<br />and are hereby made chargeable
<br />against and shall be assessed
<br />upon said lands and district,
<br />which district is within the lim-
<br />its of the Town of Redwood City,
<br />County of San Mateo, State of
<br />California, and said district Is de-
<br />scribed and shown on a certain
<br />map or plat entitled "Map Show-
<br />ing Assessment District Under
<br />Resolution of Intention No. 1.9,"
<br />which map or plat Is now on file
<br />In the office of the Clerk of the
<br />Town of Redwood City, and to
<br />which reference is hereby made
<br />for an accurate location and de-
<br />scription of said assessment dis-
<br />trict, and the same, is made a
<br />part hereof.
<br />NOTICE is hereby given that
<br />serial bonds to represent unpaid
<br />assessments and bear interest at
<br />the rate of seven (70/,) per cent
<br />per annum will be issued here-
<br />under in the manner provided by
<br />the Improvement Bond Act of
<br />1915, the last installment of
<br />which bonds shall mature and be
<br />payable nine (9) years from the
<br />second day of July next succeed-
<br />ing ten (10) months from their
<br />date.
<br />Except as hereinabove other-
<br />wise provided for the issuance of
<br />serial bonds, all the herein pro-
<br />posed work and improvements
<br />shall be done in pursuance of and
<br />In conformity with an act of the
<br />Legislature of the State of Cali-
<br />fornia entitled "Improvement Act
<br />of 1911," approved April 7th, 1911,
<br />and , acts amendatory thereof.
